Fashion editor Damien Woolnough to join launch team of new Grazia digital relaunch
The publishers behind the revival of Grazia as a digital-only publication are understood to have hired Damien Woolnough for the role of contributing editor, fashion.
Woolnough is a former fashion editor of The Australian and deputy editor of Elle Australia whose most recent role was a brief stint as editor-in-chief of L’Officiel Australia.
He will be part of the launch team when the former magazine returns without a print presence later this month. Marne Schwartz, general manager of Grazia, told Mumbrella: “I’m thrilled to have Damien on board; his fashion pedigree and quality of journalism add to the craftsmanship of our editorial team”.
Schwartz, formerly of Bauer Media, partnered with former hedge-fund manager Nicole Keats Torrence and investor Peter Howarth to relaunch the title.
Grazia.com.au will focus on luxury and high street fashion, beauty, culture and entertainment. The website will have a flat editorial structure with no single editor, instead employing market editors across its key topic pillars.
Grazia is a former Bauer title that was closed by Bauer in February 2013 after the magazine’s circulation struggled.
Woolnough quit L’Officiel late last year, telling Mumbrella at the time the publication was “not the right size and cut for me”.
