Pilot Week wrap: I Am Roxy proves most-popular program for Ten
Ten’s Pilot Week for 2019 has drawn to a close, with Roxy Jacenko’s I Am Roxy obtaining the largest overnight audience of 399,000.
Tuesday’s Part Time Private Eyes placed second in terms of overnight metro audiences, with 344,000.
Sydney’s Crazy Rich Asians on Sunday had 175,000 metro viewers, while last night’s My 80 Year Old Flatmate struggled with just 174,000.
With the addition of regional figures, the rankings shifted slightly. I Am Roxy’s national audience was 530,000. Part Time Private Eyes remained in second with 458,000. Sydney’s Crazy Rich Asians totalled 254,000, which was slightly below My 80 Year Old Flatmate’s 268,000.
In 2018’s Pilot Week experiment, Ten said of the eight programs it piloted, those it took to series would be determined by a combination of ratings and viewer/ social media response.
Last year, Ten’s chief content officer Beverley McGarvey told Mumbrella it wouldn’t be fair to make ratings comparisons between the shows, adding the overnight data was just one of many ways to measure the success of each show.
“It’s not necessarily how many tweets it has, but how people are responding to it,” she added.
“If there’s an overwhelmingly positive response, even if it’s a small number, you know you’ve got somewhere to go. And that’s true of shows that are launched as well.”
Last year, Pilot Week gave Ten an 11.5% audience share. Its progressive share for this week so far is 12.4%.

Why does the rest of the country have to watch 2 repugnant “celebrities” in Kyle & Roxy just because peanut sydney-siders find them interesting.

There seems to be no level of shallowness to which the younger viewers are prepared to sink. Just an egotistical self-promotion.
