‘We’re not so good at tennis, because all we do is insurance’: Chubb launches first campaign from 72 and Sunny
Insurance provider Chubb is leveraging the Australian Open in a new campaign which features a group of suits attempting a very poor game of tennis.
It’s the first campaign from 72 and Sunny Sydney, which won the creative account for Chubb at the end of last year.
The ad closes with the line “We’re not so good at tennis, because all we do is insurance”.
Chris Kay, CEO of 72 and Sunny Sydney, said it was a pleasure to work with Chubb.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Chubb; a company with a super clear purpose, a hunger for creativity, and a pleasure to make things with. And, to work with them on a campaign born in Australia that in the next month goes global is pretty cool,” Kay said.
The Australian Open campaign will run across social, TV, print, digital and display. It will feature the 30 second TVC and 15 and six second cut downs. The ads were shot in December last year.
The campaign also marks the beginning of a global platform developed for Chubb by 72 and Sunny that will launch in February.
Chubb was announced as the official insurance partner for the Australian Open in November last year.
In 2019, 72 and Sunny added Infigen Energy, Lion and Hmlet to its client list.

Looks nice and is funny for what I imagine was a tight sponsorship brief.

Such an old, well worn strategy: ‘We dont’ do…(insert gag).
I thought 72 were meant to be offering something new to the Aussie market, not tired old rehashed strategies.

Agree – almost as lazy a copy-writing effort as the “sound engineer speaking to the talent” radio ad that we’ve heard a thousand times.
What a lost opportunity speaking to millions about your USP or product benefits and why they should choose you for their business insurance needs. All we’ve learnt is you can’t play tennis.

Why can’t we support each other in this country as people in our industry do elsewhere? Well done 72. Don’t listen to the petty haters / ex employees.
