Pinterest spotlights diverse and inclusive beauty content and brands in new campaign

Pinterest has launched a new initiative for the month of September, “See Yourself on Pinterest”, spotlighting diverse and inclusive beauty content and brands.

The campaign was developed to help people of all complexions, shapes and backgrounds to see themselves celebrated on Pinterest, not just represented, encouraging them to take action on relevant beauty ideas offline.

In developing the campaign, Pinterest reflected on Neilson’s research that found more than a third of people felt an online place devoted to inspiration is more important than ever. Commissioned by Pinterest, the research was conducted in Australia between 18 and 29 June, among Australian adults.

The campaign will see Pinterest work with Australian creators for beauty content that covers a range of diverse topics and create the “See Yourself on Pinterest” page with curated content from Pinterest creators. The page highlight’s platform’s hair pattern and skin tone search tools, and includes shoppable products.

In addition, Pinterest will highlight diverse and inclusive beauty brands for all ages, complexions and genders, with a dedicated Inclusive Beauty Shop. The shop highlights brands that are owned by traditionally under-represented communities and products that are universally wearable and complexions, ages and genders, such as M.A.C Cosmetics, Fenty Beauty, Embellish by Rowi and Bush Medijina.
