Former Ferrari race engineer Rob Smedley to speak at Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Virtual Summit

Rob Smedley, one of the most well-known senior executives in Formula 1, will speak live from the UK on the second day of sessions at the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Virtual Summit.

Former Ferrari F1 race engineer, Rob Smedley, will speak at the Automotive Marketing Virtual Summit

Smedley, who is currently director of data systems for Formula 1, is the former race engineer for Ferrari F1 winner Felipe Massa and was previously the head of vehicle performance for Williams Martini Racing.

At the virtual summit, Smedley will explore data and technology and how it is allowing Formula 1 to become closer to its fans. He will explain the collaboration between Formula 1 and Amazon Web Services and go into detail about the progress the sport has made in terms of bridging the gap to its global fan base.

Also confirmed is Bauer Media’s head of strategy for WhichCar, Matt Bowden.

In his session, Bowden will explain how to develop an ‘attention strategy’ and how WhichCar has applied this thinking to its own brands to evolve from a pure play print publisher to a fast growing, multi-channel automotive network in Australia.

Other speakers already confirmed include Mini head of marketing, Alex McLean, Hyundai CMO, Kevin Goult, The Navigators founder, Cecile Thornley, DiDi CMO, Douglas Toy, and more.
