The Queensland Symphony Orchestra announces director of sales and marketing

The Queensland Symphony Orchestra has chosen Renee Williams to serve as its director of sales and marketing.

The announcement:

There’s a new director of sales and marketing at the helm of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and expect to hear things differently in 2024.

Renee Williams, quiet achiever, live music lover, Brisbane local, marketing mentor, business owner and self-professed digital nerd, has joined the Orchestra, working closely with chief executive Yarmila Alfonzetti and the Senior Leadership Team in taking the QSO into 2024 and beyond.

QSO chief executive Yarmila Alfonzetti said Renee joined the company at an exciting time.

“On the mainstage, in our studio, in the pit for the opera and the ballet, and touring all over this vast State, QSO thrives as an arts company for all Queenslanders. Be in no doubt that the QSO underpins a significant portion of the major performing arts sector in Queensland and we welcome Renee into a role that’s as large as it is exciting and dynamic,” she said.

“With a career deeply rooted in FinTech, finance, digital marketing, martech, revenue funnels and data, Renee has used her love of numbers to continuously find fresh, new, commercial, and profitable ways of running marketing and sales teams; a skill and a track record we were looking for,” said Yarmila.

“Born in Brisbane, Renee not only brings with her a wealth of marketing and sales knowledge, having led large teams in a Fortune 500 FinTech organisation previously and worked in the education and superannuation industries prior to that, but she’s also incredibly passionate and proud of being from Queensland and wanted to take on a role where she could make positive impacts on her home state community.”

Renee said she has joined the Orchestra at a perfect time.

“Queensland is a phenomenal place to live and we have a world class orchestra that is accessible to our communities right across the state. I’ve joined at the perfect time, where new projects are being delivered and new ways of people experiencing the music are being explored,” she said.

“The QSO is Queensland’s orchestra, and my focus is getting more Queenslanders, of all ages, to come and experience their orchestra in action, because it really is so special.”
