Boxing Clever wins brief to raise profile of women’s soccer
Small Sydney-based PR agency Boxing Clever has won a brief for Football Federation Australia in a pitch against 24 other players.
After a pitch announcement earlier this month, the FFA received 30 expressions of interest to raise the profile of women’s soccer in Australia.
Boxing Clever pipped the likes of M&C Saatchi, Mango and Liquid Ideas and incumbent Frank PR to clinch the business.
A spokesperson for the FFA said: “We were very hopeful that we would find an agency that understood the complexity of the women’s football brief and one who had the ideas and the recognition of the challenges in this space.”
“When it came down to it Boxing Clever nailed the brief. From an awareness perspective to the grass roots engagement and general understanding of both the audience and the landscape for women’s sport – they made a very compelling case and we are very keen to begin implementing their ideas to progress women’s football in Australia,” He said.
Are you serious. They had to pitch against 24 other agencies. FFA should be ashamed at wasting the time of 23 agencies (well done Boxing Clever BTW). Perhaps pitches from 4 agencies is sufficient.
Can FFA clarify this please? If true, it shows a lack of understanding and respect for what agencies do.
