Masterchef pulls in 965,000 as Seven wins the night
Masterchef pulled in 965,000 metro viewers at 7:30pm last night to be the most-watched non-news show of the evening.
It was also the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54), out-rating Seven’s House Rules which drew a metro audience of 787,000.
Both shows’ beat Nine’s The Big Bang Theory which grabbed 753,000, while a second episode of the US sitcom airing at 8:00pm was watched by 640,000.
Seven won the night with a share of 20% ahead of Nine’s share of 17%. Ten claimed third place with a share of 15.3% as the ABC settled for a share of 12.2%.
Later in the evening, Seven’s Criminal Minds pulled in 612,000 at 8:45pm with a second episode watched by 452,000.
It easily out-rated Ten’s Madam Secretary, which at 8:30pm was watched by 389,000.
Nine’s The Secret Life of the Zoo was watched by 219,000 at 8:30pm in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. In Sydney and Brisbane, The Footy Show grabbed 224,000 metro viewers.
In the news battleground, Seven News at 6:00pm was watched by 1.064m, slipping to 1.005m from 6:30pm. Nine News at 6pm pulled in 999,000, sliding to 954,000 from 6:30pm.
On the ABC, 7.30 had a metro audience of 625,000, QI (8:00pm) was watched by 490,000 and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell (8:30pm) drew an audience of 625,000.
In breakfast TV, Nine’s Today pulled in 354,000, out-rating Seven’s Sunrise which was watched by 323,000.
