Masterchef audience slides as The Voice and House Rules both crack 1m viewers
Masterchef saw its audience dip by almost 150,000 metro viewers last night, with 808,000 tuning in for a mystery box episode from 7:30pm.
It was down on last week’s audience of 956,000 and was out-rated by Seven’s House Rules and Nine’s The Voice.
House Rules’ whole house reveal pulled in 1.240m metro viewers while Nine’s The Voice was the most-watched non-news program of the evening with a metro audience of 1.303m.
Seven’s reality renovation program was the most-watched program amongst 16-39 year old viewers while The Voice was the popular choice amongst 18-49 year olds and 25-54 year olds.
The three reality programs easily out-rated the ABC’s 7:30pm broadcast of the leaders’ debate, which was watched by 529,000 metro viewers.
Nine and Seven tied with both channels posting an audience share of 22% while Ten managed a share of 13.6%. The ABC settled for a share of 11.1%.
When the secondary channels are included, the Nine Network won the evening with a total audience share of 30.2% while the Seven Network had a total share of 28.3%.
Later in the evening, Nine’s troubled 60 Minutes grabbed 778,000 metro viewers from 8:40pm. The program aired a segment apologising to viewers for its role in a “child recovery operation” which saw crew of the current affairs program facing charges of kidnapping in Lebanon.
On Seven, Sunday Night, which aired from 8:40pm, was watched by 615,000 metro viewers while Ten’s Bondi Rescue, airing from 9:15pm, pulled in 372,000.
In the news battleground, Seven News at 6:00pm won the night with a metro audience of 1.424m while Nine News was watched by 1.237m.
