The Bachelor attracts 882,000 metro viewers to Ten
Last night saw 882,000 metro viewers tune in to Ten’s The Bachelor to see new season bachelor, Richie, meet 22 eligible women.
The season premiere was up on last year’s Bachelor debut which saw 846,000 tune in while the debut of the second season in 2014 pulled in 692,000 and the first season launch in 2013 attracted 669,000.
It is the highest launch of The Bachelor to date.
Ten claimed an audience share of 18.1% to win the night ahead of Seven’s share of 17.6%. Nine posted a share of 16.3% while the ABC managed a share of 12.3%.
The Bachelor easily out-rated Nine’s RBT which was watched by 570,000 while Seven’s Border Security – Australia’s Front Line had a metro audience of 699,000.
Directly after The Bachelor, Ten’s Offspring, whiched aired at 9.10pm, grabbed 726,000 metro viewers.
The Bachelor and Offspring were the most-watched two programs across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).
In the news battleground, Seven News at 6pm pulled in 1.048m, slipping to 964,000 from 6.30pm while Nine News at 6pm was watched by 1.007m, sliding to 952,000 from 6.30pm.
