SI Partners, Speed Agency, Richards Rose, The Leach Partnership and more confirmed to speak at Mumbrella SAGE
Six new sessions have been confirmed for Mumbrella SAGE, led by SI Partners co-founder and partner, Alistair Angus, who will fly in from Hong Kong.
Mumbrella SAGE is specifically designed for independent agencies and Angus will discuss how it is possible to achieve scale with cross-border partnerships.
He’ll address the changing creative mergers and acquisitions landscape and explore the range of international expansion options available to Australian agency businesses as well as what makes Australian businesses appealing to each particular region.
Mumbrella SAGE takes place on February 21 at the Amora Hotel Jamison in Sydney. Earlybird tickets are on sale now.
Joining Angus as a speaker is Speed Agency founder and former ZenithOptimedia ANZ CEO, Ian Perrin. Perrin set up Speed Agency in 2016 initially with Clemenger Group before taking it independent just over a year ago.
Perrin will open up about fucking up in a revealing session appropriately titled, ‘The importance of fucking up’. In it, he will detail his mistakes, the ramifications of those mistakes and why it is essential to embrace them.
Digby Richards, CEO of Richards Rose, will also speak, discussing emotional intensity and why independent agencies are best placed to use it as a campaign tool.
Richards Rose is built on the emotional intensity of brands, working to the principle, ‘when we move people, we move business’. Richard’s session will expand on the professional approach of putting emotion first and reveal why independent agencies could be in the best position to create work that truly moves people.
Meanwhile, New Business Methodology’s founder and principal, Julia Vargiu, returns to Mumbrella SAGE, this year looking at accessing hidden markets. She asserts that what many agencies are selling isn’t what the client really wants to buy – trusted, strategic business guidance.
Vargiu will explain why the ability to provide clients with impartial and independent holistic guidance about where their market and industry is headed has slowly vanished from most agencies in the last 20 years. She’ll also describe how agencies can start to change the way they are viewed by their clients.
On clients, The Leach Partnership’s William Leech will detail how to build unbreakable relationships with clients. He will offer practical tips on how to make sure an agency builds mutually rewarding, long-term client relationships.
Drawn from analysis across professional services organisations, the strategies and tactics work for all types of agency whether they enjoy retained or multi-project business relationships and whatever discipline or sector of the industry the agency resides in.
Also returning is Dave Bentley, CEO and co-founder of Cavalry, and former managing director of MullenLowe Profero. He will reveal nine techniques to make using freelancers work better for independent agencies.
Bentley will use statistics and learnings from Cavalry, a freelance marketplace, to reveal best practice methods of managing freelancers to ensure that they are happy and delivering great work.
Mumbrella SAGE takes place on February 21 at the Amora Hotel Jamison in Sydney. Earlybird tickets are on sale now with more speakers and a special new feature of the conference to be announced early next year.
