Ten’s second attempt at Pilot Week – which saw it air four one-off episodes of new programs to test consumers’ response – gave the channel an 11.7% share for the week.
Last year’s Pilot Week was more extensive, with eight programs on offer, and delivered the channel an 11.5% share during the experiment.
Pilot Week is over for another year
Roxy Jacenko’s I Am Roxy proved most popular in terms of overnight ratings for the initiative. It had a preliminary overnight metro audience of 399,000.

Ten’s highest-rating show for the entire week, however, was Tuesday night’s Australian Survivor, which had 809,000 metro viewers.
This week will see the conclusion of The Bachelor Australia on Ten. Last week’s episodes delivered 701,000 (Wednesday), and 797,000 (Thursday).
Thursday’s episode topped the key advertising demographic of those aged 16 to 39 for the week, with Australian Survivor placing second, and Have You Been Paying Attention? (also on Ten) placing third.
Last year’s final decision (or lack thereof) by Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins on The Bachelor had an overnight metro audience of 1.241m, and the main episode had 1.009m. The year prior had 1.116m for the final moments, and 980,000 for the main episode.
Remember when he picked no-one?
Despite The Bachelor hurtling towards the finale and Ten’s Pilot Week push, it was Nine’s week overall.
The primary channel had a 21.9% share, while the network won with 32.7%.
Its closest competitor was Seven on 18.7% and 28.5%.
Last Sunday’s The Block was the most-popular show across the week, while Nine News immediately preceding it placed second. Sunday’s episode of The Block had 1.145m metro viewers.
The Block also topped the 25 to 54 demographic for the week, ahead of Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention?
The ABC had a 10.7% primary channel share for the week, and 14.7% on a network basis.
SBS had 4.5% and 7.1%.
The Nine Network has also edged slightly more ahead in the yearly ratings battle, with the network commanding a year-to-date share of 29.8% to Seven Network’s 29.5%.
