Hamish & Andy’s Andy Lee joins Mumbrella Audioland lineup
Hamish & Andy’s Andy Lee is set to speak at Mumbrella Audioland on May 5 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.
Lee, who works alongside Hamish Blake on Southern Cross Austero’s (SCA) Podcast One, will join the panel discussing audio talent and their relationship with listeners which also includes Acast’s podcasters Osher Günsberg and Meshel Laurie, plus content director of Acast Australia and New Zealand, Guy Scott-Wilson and head of podcasting at SCA, Grant Tothill.
The panel will discuss how to cultivate positive relationships between hosts and listeners, how to create a sense of community through audio, how to select the right talent, the role talent plays in creating trust and what works compared to what doesn’t.
Blake and Lee started their careers in radio, and their national drive show later reached around 2.5m listeners each week for four years.
Meanwhile, Mamamia’s head of content, Holly Wainwright will also speak on a panel which includes Audible’s country manager and head of Audible Australia, Leanne Cartwright-Bradford; Nova Entertainment’s digital commercial director, Kane Reiken; and Group M’s chief digital strategy officer, Venessa Hunt.
They will unpack the commercial opportunities in audio, deliberating on the best ways to sell ads into audio, how to make it engaging, emerging audio advertising models and how best to align your brand with audio.
Lee and the other panel members are joining three international speakers already on the program including Alistair McEwan, SVP for APAC at BBC Global News, Sam Crowther, ECD at A Million Ads, and Travis Johnson, global CEO at Podean.
The topics set to be covered at Mumbrella Audioland include the psychology of audio and the role personalisation plays in the human psyche, how brands and business can make the most from their talent, how technology delivered a renaissance in the importance of both voice and audio, and a study revealing whether branded podcasts really work.
Now in its second year, Mumbrella Audioland will take place on May 5, 2020 at the Four Season Hotel in Sydney. Earlybird tickets are on sale now.
