4:16pm – At the Media Metrics Masterclass we’re getting a rundown of the new radio ratings from provider GfK ahead of tomorrow morning’s results. CRA CEO Joan Warner said she expects a lot of changes across the country because of new teams in different timeslots.
3.50pm – AWARD has a new campaign out aimed at stirring debate around anonymous online comments. You can read the full story here.
3.00pm – Tomorrow Mumbrella will host a live video hangout with ADMA CEO Jodie Sangster and legal counsel for Telstra retail Matthew Leung discussing the major changes to privacy laws that start on Wednesday.
2.09pm – Looks like the Americans don’t like the TV series Rake as much as we Aussies do. The SMH is reporting the show is in trouble and possibly faces the axe.
1.29pm – Industry body MFA has a new chairman OMD boss Peter Horgan. Full story here.
12.35pm – Dr Mumbo is amused to see Lachlan Murdoch pick up a new bar gig.
12.20pm – A couple of media agency wins around today Initiative has won $10m insurance company TAL’s media account and Barry O’Brien has won the $20m account for Dick Smith.
12.02pm – Ten has been found to be handing out DVDs of Secrets & Lies in east coast capitals in a bid to get more people into the show.
One TV executive told Mumbrella:
”Most networks wait until the end of the series to sell it on a DVD box-set, or put it online so people can catch up. Never do they stand in the street handing it out like the town crier.”

10.50am – Programmatic platform RadiumOne has formally launched in Australia and announced that it has signed an agreement to access inventory with NineMSN. Story here.
10.35am – In the TV ratings The Block has topped My Kitchen Rules and an SBS doco on The Vikings has rated same as Ten’s dance show So You Think You Can Dance. Story here.
10.13am – This is an interesting insight into global social sharing on Facebook from Steffen Konrath and the guys at the Liquid newsroom.
10:01am – Two of the ANZ GAYTMs have been vandalised overnight in Sydney, although police say they are not treating it as a homophobic attack.
9:31am – On Saturday it was International Women’s Day, and to mark it a group of creatives from London got together and put together this pastiche of a Google Glass ad, which has an unexpected end. Warning – contains violence.
9:16am – TV ratings are in for last night and it appears The Block has beaten My Kitchen Rules for the first time this series, getting 18,000 more viewers across the metro areas according to OzTam. Full ratings story to come.
9:02am – On Friday a number of web giants filed their submissions against government plans for a new eCommissioner and new cyber bullying laws, claiming they will make it slower to take down harmful content than the current system. See their submissions here.
8:34am – The “triple play” has reared its head again, this time ahead of the launch of Foxtel’s new movie streaming service Presto which has an official launch this week. The Australian has a chat with Rohan Lund the new COO of Foxtel (who last week Mumbrella revealed has started a restructure there) where he says the new service might be packaged up with new broadband and broadcast services.
8:14am – Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull has made headlines again over the weekend admitting he is “very sympathetic” to the idea of scrapping the media reach rule this year, which would pave the way for mergers and new alliances across the media sector. However, he could face a fight to get the reform through with Seven West Media boss Kerry Stokes coming out against them, and several MPs raising concerns over the future of local news.

8:02am – Around the traps this morning there are some interesting yarns, including The Australian claiming Seven has finally given up on airing a Schapelle Corby interview any time soon and brought its crew home after a month of wooing the convicted drug smuggler. The attempts to get the interview will probably make a telemovie themselves.
7:50am – Morning folks and welcome along. I’m afraid it’s Monday morning again, but fear not, theres a lot to look forward to this week. For those in Victoria and Tasmania, have a great Labour Day holiday (we’re not jealous across the rest of the country).
