Tourism Australia, Deepend and GPY&R among Aussie contenders at Webby’s
Among the Australian finalists at the Webby Awards, the ‘Emmys for the internet’, are websites for Amnesty International by Reactive, Tourism Australia and Lonely Planet, the interactive campaign Party at your place for Terri Scheer insurance by GPY&R and the iPhone application Monkey Mayhem for Taronga Zoo by Deepend Sydney.
Among 70 categories and an extensive list of contenders, Tourism Australia’s ‘There’s nothing like Australia’ site is in the mix in the tourism category, LonelyPlanet.com for travel and Amnesty International in the activism category.
Aussie entrants will be hoping to do better than last year, with only AIM Proximity and Profero Sydney flying the flag in 2010.
Given the lengthy list of finalists and official honorees which are not categorised by country, some Australian contenders may have been missed. If so, please feel free to let us know

With regard to the “Party at your place”, what is so interactive about an EDM with a single custom field that takes you to a print ad turned into a website? Are these awards for 2010 or 2000? “The tech bit” in the case study is laughable.
