Australian Survivor pulls in 1.082m metro viewers to see introvert Kristie named winner

The finale of Ten’s Australian Survivor saw 1.082m metro viewers tune in to see Sydney’s Kristie Bennett, a senior account executive with Bang, a digital marketing agency in Sydney, crowned the winner.

The rest of the grand finale pulled in 859,000 and was an improvement on the first episode’s audience of 783,000 and up on the first Tribal Council’s audience of 784,000.

Meanwhile The Block, also airing at 7:30pm, pulled in 911,000 metro viewers while Seven’s Border Security – Australia’s Front Line was watched by 657,000 and The Force – Behind the Line, airing at 8:00pm, had a metro audience of 633,000.

The winner announcement and the Australian Survivor grand finale were the two most-watched shows across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).

Nine won the night with an audience share of 18.6%  while Ten grabbed a share of 17%. Seven claimed third place with a share of 16.9% as the ABC settled for a share of 10.4%.

Later in the evening, Ten’s Todd Sampson’s Body Hack, airing at 9:15pm, was watched by 471,000, down on last week’s audience of 568,000.

Seven’s Cold Feet, airing at 8:30pm, had a metro audience of 417,000, down on last week’s audience of 556,000, while Nine’s Unreal Estate, at 8:40pm, grabbed 522,000, down on last week’s 684,000.

In the news battleground, Seven News at 6:00pm grabbed 1.083m, slipping to 982,000 from 6:30pm, while Nine News at 6:00pm was watched by 1.035m, sliding to 959,000 from 6:30pm.

Nine’s A Current Affair had an audience of 848,000 at 7:00pm while Seven’s Home and Away was watched by 726,000.
