Victorians write messages on ribbons to encourage safe driving this Christmas
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) has asked Australians to write messages on ribbons to encourage Victorians to stay safe on the roads this Christmas.
Created by Taboo, the activation will be held at Southbank and encourages the public to choose a message which resonates with them and then wear it or attach it to a bag or keyring.
Nick Jamieson, creative director at Taboo, said in a statement: “We felt there was something very powerful in using the words of real Victorians to remind each other that we all need to do our part in order to keep the roads safe this Christmas.
“This activation highlights TAC’s commitment to making road safety a shared responsibility and taps into the common emotions we all share over this period. Amongst the backdrop of communal stress and hurry, we want to get the community to stop and realise that, despite our diversity, we’re all connected by a deep desire to have a safe and happy festive season.”
Some of the messages include “I’ll be the designated driver”, “I’ll be patient with others on the road” and “I’ll appreciate those around me”.
