Director, Marketing & Digital Publishing

Reporting to the Managing Director, Universal Networks & TV Distribution , ANZ, this role will be instrumental in leading the organisation’s digitalisation strategy within the Australia and NZ region.

The Director will be responsible for shaping the overall Marketing and PR strategy and execution of Universal Networks digital publishing plans. The Director will also work on projects that helps extend and broaden the NBCUniversal brand in providing new partnership opportunities for our commercial team.

To be successful in this role, you will be a strategic thinker and successful leader of a marketing function and team of people with a depth of knowledge of the Australia and New Zealand media market. You will enjoy working in a fast paced international environment and challenging the status-quo; with the proven ability to cultivate a culture and support the team and business through a journey of digital transformation.

Build brand strength for the channel business and support the enhancement of advertising sales performance.
Oversee marketing and project budgets, including sourcing competitive quotes, negotiating media buys, and advertising budgets.
Conceive and execute the marketing, PR and Digital Publishing strategy with the support of a team.
Manage the E !Online and Bravo online content and monetarise their digital assets in association with other social platforms.
Work collaboratively with the Managing Director on new business opportunities.
Responsible for above the line marketing outreach for free-to-air networks and subscription channels.
Sit as part of the Managing Director’s leadership team representing Marketing function’s interest, working symbiotically with the other leaders.

Significant experience in a broadly based marketing management role, heading up a function at a country or regional level including direct management experience.
Previous experience in managing budgets including working finance to qualify spend and quantify ROI.
A depth of knowledge and experience in the field of digital media and on line marketing.
Experience managing media buying and negotiating with external agencies/partners
Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent communicator in multi formats such as written, verbal and visual presentations.
Ability to understand, interpret and action television ratings and other research and performance data such as advertising campaign results.
Familiar with the NBCUniversal brand and are passionate about the industry.y
Proficient in Microsoft applications especially Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Photoshop and CMS knowledge an advantage.
