PR Shed creates new subscription service to make PR more accessible

PR Shed has created a new subscription service to support brands struggling with tight budgets and talent shortages, and help make PR more accessible.

The announcement:

PR Shed launches a new hassle-free subscription service to make PR more accessible to startups, small businesses and bigger brands.

The done-with-you offering, the first of its kind globally, is designed to save time and money on internal or external PR resources by providing relevant publicity leads, contacts and targeted media outreach on a monthly basis. Turning the traditional agency model on its head, PR Shed empowers marketers and business owners to connect and collaborate with media, influencers and stakeholders direct, rather than through a third party.

Along with regular accountability check-ins, users also have access to professional support and strategic advice, giving them fresh ideas on how to promote their products and services in ways they may not have previously thought of.

Celia Harding, founder, comments: “With marketing resources being squeezed due to inflation and talent shortages, the platform enables businesses to streamline their publicity efforts and drive better results, without a huge investment of time or cash. As there are no lock-in contracts, users can sign up for a one-off project or make PR Shed an extension of their team by subscribing to the service on a longer-term basis.”

How it works:

– Companies pick one of the three PR packages available.

– A meeting is scheduled to discuss business objectives and PR goals.

– PR Shed conducts media, industry and trends research to generate PR ideas and identify relevant publicity opportunities tailored to each business’s specific objectives.

– A set number of personalised PR leads spanning traditional media, influencers, events and speaking engagements are shared with the client throughout the month.

– A well-crafted pitch is written by a PR professional and shared with the subscriber along with the necessary contact details for them to get involved.

– PR Shed is on-hand for additional support in responding to media requests, wider communications initiatives and creative strategy.

Celia continues: “Hailing from an agency background, working with the likes of Google, Diageo and Mastercard, we’ve found that many of the SMEs we speak to aren’t looking for those types of large-scale communications campaigns, they simply want to raise their profile through earned media exposure because of the impact it can have on their bottom line, credibility and SEO.”

On a mission to demystify the PR process and empower businesses to tell their story to the right person at the right time, PR Shed works with an eclectic mix of startups, entrepreneurs and more established brands including CoinJar, Ace Power, Mobius Distilling Co, Select Wellness, Australian Diamond Portfolio, Club 77 and VA Media.

Camilla Thompson, co-founder of Select Wellness, comments: “We have a tight marketing budget and every dollar we spend needs to deliver the maximum return on investment. In the past, we’ve tried contacting the media with limited success, but since working with PR Shed we’ve secured coverage in top-tier titles like The Australian and The Australian Financial Review. It’s been a real eye-opener to understand how the process works and the benefits good PR can bring.”

In addition to the publicity toolkits, other pay-as-you-go services include media release writing and PR coaching. A full-agency service is also available to select clients on request.

Pricing starts from $1,999 a month. For more information and toolkit pricing visit prshed.com.
