Ruby Boukabou’s final Cannes report

Ruby Boukabou gives her final report from Cannes discussing with representatives of Screen Australia the reactions to the Australian films screened and the networking achieved by Australian representatives.

Kathleen Drumm, Head of Marketing, Screen Australia says “the Australian films are some of the most talked about films here at Cannes. People respond to the fact that Australian filmmakers are very courageous.

“Beyond that there are a number of Australians with some very interesting commercial projects who understand the market and who understand what people are looking for in the market and I have a sense they have made some great progress here.”

Says Ross Matthews, Head of Production Development says, “This festival we’ve paid particular interest to co-production opportunities and we’ve had several functions involving the Canadians, the New Zealanders, the Scotch, the Irish – as many co-production partners as we could lay our hands on.”
