WWF-Australia use Nemo for Queensland to highlight policies needed to protect barrier reef

HeroImage_NemoForQLDWWF Australia has recruited Disney’s fish Nemo for a digital campaign aimed at raising awareness of the six policies the organisation says are needed to protect the Great Barrier Reef.

In the leadup to the Queensland state election on January 31 Nemo will be on the campaign trail, promoting the six key policies for the Reef, using social media and a dedicated website to keep the public updated.

Visitors to the website are able to help by using a ‘Tweet the leaders’ tool to simultaneously Tweet all the leaders of the major Queensland parties and share the policies on Facebook.

WWF-Australia CEO Dermot O’Gorman said: “Nemo for Queensland is a lighthearted take on a very serious issue.

“Digital channels are now an important part of WWF campaigns, providing a direct line of communication to our supporters and the wider community.”

The Nemo for Queensland campaign is part of an effort by WWF to demonstrate to Queensland political leaders that the community is watching and expects them to protect the Great Barrier Reef.
