Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 tops weekend box office for second week
Walt Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy has won the weekend box office for the second week in a row, earning $4.993m across 634 screens.
The movie has earned a total of $23.064m across the two weeks since it was released, according to weekend box office figures from the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.
The Fate of the Furious dropped two spots this weekend falling from its second place to fourth, pulling in $928,792 over 292 screens. The film – which has smashed global box office records – has now earned a total of $27.354m in Australia.
Get Out managed $1.895m in its first weekend in the cinemas, beating The Fate of The Furious this weekend and Entertainment One’s A Dog’s Purpose pulled in $1.204m in its first weekend outing.
Roadshow’s Going in Style had an earning of $580,000 this weekend remaining in fifth place and taking its total box office earning to date to $3.754m.
