Publicis Media ANZ COO Chris Nolan to leave at end of May

Publicis Media ANZ’s chief operating officer, Chris Nolan, is to leave the agency group at the end of May.

Nolan was promoted to COO of Publicis Media ANZ in 2016. He originally joined the group as Starcom’s Melbourne managing director, before rising to become Starcom’s national CEO.

Publicis Media ANZ’s chief operating officer, Chris Nolan will leave at the end of the month

He was one of the favourites for the Australian CEO position at Publicis Media Group following a global restructure of the parent company in 2016, however he was eventually appointed COO. Former group director of Nine Entertainment sales Matt James won the top role.

Nolan said: “I would like to thank my Publicis Media colleagues, both locally and across the globe, for their continued support over the last 13 years and I wish them all the best for the future.

“I would also like to thank the clients that I have worked with. Through helping to grow your businesses, I have remained inspired in all that you have achieved and I hope you continue to prosper. And to the publishers I have worked with, thank you for your partnership, support and encouragement.”

Publicis Media will not be appointing another COO and Nolan will be working on the transition with James over the rest of the month, before looking for new career opportunities.

Publicis Media APAC CEO said of Nolan’s departure: “I would like to thank Chris for his commitment and leadership contribution to Publicis Media in Australia over the last two years. He has helped drive Publicis Media into a position of strength and we will continue to build on this proposition and capability for the future. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
