Flight Centre hires Joachim Holte as CMO

Flight Centre has a new CMO, with Kmart’s marketing executive Joachim Holte coming on board to lead the marketing and digital experiences for the leisure travel brand.

Holte has spent time with travel brands in Europe, and returned to Australia in 2004. Since then, he’s worked at Wotif and Yahoo, and headed up marketing at Rate City and Wayfair.

He had two stints at Wotif, with the most recent seeing him in the role of executive general manager for Australia and New Zealand, where he headed up product, marketing and strategy.

He will report to Flight Centre’s executive general manager, Alissa O’Connell, who said she believes Holte will play a valuable role in the brand’s evolution.

“Exciting initiatives are already underway to ensure we maintain a strong customer-centric focus and to enhance the customer experience and product offering across multiple sales channels within the flagship Flight Centre brand,” she said.

Holte said he was excited to be joining an iconic travel brand.

“The opportunities for growth and innovation are only limited by our imaginations as the global demand for travel offerings continues to grow and change,” he said.

“Flight Centre has a long history of being a game-changing brand, and I feel privileged to be going on the next steps of that journey.”
