CQUniversity showcases regional Queensland projects in latest campaign

CQUniversity has showcased some of its regional Queensland projects in its latest TVC campaign, highlighting the university’s impacts on communities.

The announcement:

Changing the world can start anywhere, and a new campaign from CQUniversity is showcasing some of the regional Queensland projects transforming lives.

CQUniversity’s Changemaker campaign features evocative storytelling about innovative ideas and passionate people achieving real impact.

Across three inspiring video and TV commercials, the campaign also highlights CQUniversity’s unique commitment to empower students, staff and communities to drive social and environmental impact.

CQUniversity initiatives in the campaign include:

  • U-Beach Universal Beach Access, a Bundaberg research and community engagement project to make beaches more accessible for people living with disability or mobility limitations,
  • Regional Medical Pathway, the Australian-first initiative supporting Rockhampton and Bundaberg region school leavers, including targeted First Nations student positions, to study medicine in their own communities, and helping address local doctor shortages,
  • Landfill Waste to Automobile Fuel, a Rockhampton clean energy research project transforming waste plastic,
  • Tucker Time, an award-winning food rescue and training partnership skilling unemployed Central Queenslanders for hospitality jobs, while making nutritious meals available for people in need,
  • Gabai Native Bee Project, connecting backyard beekeepers with Indigenous knowledge to support and grow sustainable native bee populations.

CQUniversity vice-chancellor and president Professor Nick Klomp said the campaign was a celebration of changemaking and community.

“Across our national footprint, CQUniversity is empowering people and projects for huge social impact, and our new Changemaker campaign celebrates what’s being achieved right here in regional Queensland,” Prof Klomp said.

“We know that young people increasingly want a career that makes a difference to our world, and I hope the campaign will inspire everyone to see how that’s possible with CQUniversity.

“Our commitment to social innovation means we work with our students, our stakeholders, and our communities to achieve sustainable social and environmental change – and that’s at the heart of CQUniversity.”

Last month, CQUniversity was certified as Australia’s first and only social enterprise university, recognising its unique commitment to changemaking and social impact.

CQUniversity joined iconic Australian organisations like Who Gives A Crap, Landcare Australia and Thankyou Group, in gaining the Social Traders certification.

The recognition builds on CQUniversity’s work as Australia’s only Changemaker University, accredited by global social change network Ashoka U since 2016.

The Changemaker campaign screens from this week across regional Queensland television, and in coming weeks on digital platforms nationally.  CQUniversity’s partner creative agency, Brother & Co led the creative concept development and production in collaboration with content studio Light and Shade.
