Seven’s The Chase the most-watched non-news show of the evening

Seven’s The Chase was the most-watched non-news program of the night, pulling in 726,000 metro viewers at 5:00pm.

A quiet evening in TV saw only Seven News break the 1m viewer mark, grabbing 1.159m at 6:00pm before dipping to 1.056m at 6:30pm.

Nine News at 6:00pm was watched by 975,000, sliding to 897,000 from 6:30pm while A Current Affair at 7:00pm drew an audience of 801,000, out-rating Seven’s Home and Away, which was watched by 712,000.

In the competitive 7:30pm timeslot, Nine’s Britain’s Got Talent had an audience of 683,000, Seven’s Birds Make You Laugh Out Loud pulled in 588,000 and Ten’s Modern Family was watched by 566,000.

Nine won the night with an audience share of 18.3%, ahead of Seven’s share of 17.6%. The ABC claimed third place with a share of 13.3% while Ten managed a share of 13%.

Seven’s local drama series Winners & Losers drew a metro audience of 501,000 at 8:30pm, with 470,000 sticking around for a second episode of the series at 9:30pm.

On the ABC, 7.30 was watched by 681,000, Catalyst (8:00pm) grabbed 641,000 and Forces of Nature with Brian Cox (8:30pm) had an audience of 635,000.

In breakfast TV, Seven’s Sunrise was watched by 324,000 out-rating Nine’s Today which had an audience of 290,000.
