Shortlist revealed for Mumbrella’s first Sports Marketing Awards

Seven’s legendary sports presenter Bruce McAvaney is up against Fox Sports and TripleM broadcaster Matty Johns, Fox Footy’s Sarah Jones and Nine’s Tim Gilbert for the first Mumbrella Sports Marketing Awards.

Bruce McAvaney faces stiff competition in the Presenter of the Year category

Samsung’s Rethink Role Models campaign, which heroes its partnership with Netball Australia, has been nominated in three categories including Sports Ad Campaign of the Year and Social Idea of the Year.

In the campaign category it is up against BMF’s You’ve Gotta Have a Team for the FFA, The Works’ Support Network work for Optus, AFL’s recent revival of I’d Like to See That, and Dove’s Strength To Care campaign.

The awards take place after the Mumbrella Sports Marketing Summit on June 21 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Five are battling it out for Sports Media Brand of the Year with AFL Media, Cricket.com.au, ESPN, Seven Sport and Wide World of Sports in contention.

And the Marketing Team of the Year will be one of either AFL, Brisbane Heat, Football Federation of Australia, Fox Sports or Unilever Deodorants Team.

Shortlisted finalists will be subjected to a second round of live judging to decide the winner in each of the 10 categories.

Tickets to the awards and the day’s program are available via this link, while delegates at the Summit get a complimentary ticket to the event.
