7-Eleven and Dylan Alcott honour local heroes with ‘Good Calls’ initiative
7-Eleven has enlisted Paralympian and six-time Australian Open champion Dylan Alcott to thank people who have stepped up to support others during isolation.
Running throughout May and June, the recipients of 7-Eleven’s Good Calls are gifted with free fuel, funding, 7-Eleven goods and supplies to recognise their contribution to the community.

The first local legend recognised by the Good Calls initiative is Sammy Swayn. Swayn launched community group United Neighbours and arranged letter drops to more than 30,000 residents in Melbourne, providing the contact details of those willing to offer their assistance to people in need.
Swayne received $4,000 funding to produce another 50,000 letters.
Alcott said he was honoured to take up the role for 7-Eleven and champion the community’s local heroes.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen so many everyday Aussies step up and lend a helping hand to people who need it most. And now the selfless, kind acts of these unsung heroes can be recognised with a 7-Eleven Good Call,” he said.
“I was honoured to surprise and delight a few of these local heroes myself, people who have really stepped up and gone out of their way to do a little bit of good in these challenging times.”
