Tourism NT’s domestic PR and media manager Jodi Clark to depart

Tourism NT’s domestic PR and media manager Jodi Clark is set to depart the government body.

Posting to LinkedIn Clark said: “Are you ready boots? My time in the Territory is almost done and red-dusted and the Tourism NT team are on the hunt to find that special someone to follow in my well-worn size nines.

Clark is departing Tourism NT after a year and a half

“For those that think travel PR is glam, it isn’t. There are early starts, long days and a lot of hard slog… but, at the same time, you’ll meet some incredible characters, promote some of the most spiritual and beautiful destinations on the planet and 100% reap the travel rewards.”

In a statement to Mumbrella, Clark said: “Like all good things, my time in the Northern Territory has come to an end and I’m very much looking forward to moving to Sydney to head the PR and Comms team for TFE Hotels.

“Promoting the NT is probably one of the hardest and most rewarding jobs I’ve had and the great thing is that no two days were ever alike,” Ms Clark said. “On a Sunday, I could be up before dawn watching the sun rise over Uluru with a TV weather crew and by Wednesday I’d find myself airboat or in a helicopter promoting destination Top End to some of the country’s best travel journalists.

“And while my Instagram feed will dearly miss the NT, the good news is I’m expanding my territory and going global with a whole new set of stories, products and adventures with TFE Hotels – so watch this space!”

Clark joined Tourism NT in October 2017 from her previous role as director of public relations and communications at Per Aquum Hotels and Resorts in the Maldives.

She has also held positions as Tourism and Events Queensland’s publicity manager, and Kingfisher Bay Resort Group’s group communications manager.

Tourism NT’s executive general manager of marketing, Tony Quarmby, added: “This is possibly the best travel PR job in Australia and, with the announcement of $216m in Federal Funding for Kakadu National Park and Tourism NT in the midst of a brand revamp, it really is an exciting opportunity to join the team.”

In October last year, Tourism NT appointed KWP to its creative account after the agency lost the SA Tourism account to TBWA.

Meanwhile in February 2017 Access PR won the PR account for Tourism NT.

Clark and Tourism NT have been approached for comment.
