Mix 102.3 Adelaide host Jodie Oddy departs breakfast after 13 years

Australian Radio Network is losing one of its longest-serving on-air presenters, with Jodie Oddy announcing her departure from Mix 102.3 Adelaide.

Oddy spent 13 years at Mix 102.3 working as part of various breakfast teams, most recently in a hugely successful partnership alongside Mark ‘Soda’ Soderstrom.

Mix 102.3 breakfast spent 81 surveys as the #1 FM breakfast show in Adelaide while Oddy worked on the show, a position the show still holds currently as of survey seven, 2020.

Oddy’s departure doesn’t come as a complete surprise, with the presenter having taken extended maternity leave in 2019 and 2020.

Fellow Mix 102.3 presenter Michelle Murphy spent time filling in, as did AFLW player Erin Phillips, with both possibilities to join Soderstrom who ARN confirmed would be part of a new show in 2021.

ARN chief content officer Duncan Campbell didn’t hint at who may join the new Mix 102.3 breakfast show, but thanked Oddy for her service to the station and to Adelaide.

“Jodie is an exceptional broadcaster who has played a key role in the success of the Mix 102.3 Breakfast show over the past 13 years,” he said.

“She is leaving on a high and can be proud of the difference she has made to the lives of so many Adelaide families and we wish Jodie all the best for her next chapter.”

The shakeup adds Adelaide to the list of markets getting new breakfast shows in 2021, with 2Day FM Sydney, Triple M Melbourne, and the newly announced Triple M Perth all expected to reveal new offerings in the slot over the coming weeks.

Triple J will also announce a new national breakfast show after it called an end to the Sally and Erica show after just one year.
