The president of the Japanese arm of major Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company, Janssen, will deliver the headline keynote at the Mumbrella Health Marketing Summit.

Chris Hourigan, formerly managing director of Janssen Australia and New Zealand, will fly in from Tokyo for the summit to speak about value-based healthcare and why it matters.

Hourigan has turned Janssen Japan into one of the most successful arms of the business. In 2017, it was the fastest growing multinational pharmaceutical company and ranked as the second largest Janssen business globally.

The Mumbrella Health Marketing Summit will take place on August 23 at the Amora Hotel Jamison in Sydney. Earlybird tickets are on sale now.

Also confirmed is a new panel addressing the issues of consumer relationships with health insurers. HCF’s head of brand, Yasmini Pinto, will join Jennifer Williams, CMO of Compare the Market, to deal with how insurers and their partners are bridging the gap between consumers and their health cover.

Pinto and Williams join a new panel focusing on health insurance and the consumer

Over 45% of Australians now have private health insurance, rising from 31% in 1999, but the reasons for taking out policies, and the level of those policies, varies substantially and is linked to the Medicare levy surcharge. It leaves health insurers with a big job to change consumer’s approach to their health coverage.

GSK Consumer Healthcare area communications manager for ANZ, Brooke Howard, has also been confirmed to speak on the headline panel about trust in health and how to talk over the misinformation.

She rounds out the group that will include Healthdirect’s Andrew Bryant, WPP Health and Wellness planning director David Bailey and Genea head of brand marketing, Nicole Papoutsis. The panel will be moderated by CEO of White Space Concepts and former ECD of Ursa Clemenger, Denis Mamo.
