PHD promotes chief planning officer Alex Pacey to chief product officer role

After three years as chief planning officer, and almost six years at the agency, PHD has promoted Alex Pacey to the position of chief product officer.

Pacey will report to PHD co-managing director Stuart Bailey – who was promoted to the joint role with Lucy Formosa Morgan early this year after Mark Jarrett’s move to CEO – and be responsible for driving the agency’s strategic product.

PHD said Pacey has been “instrumental” in the local outpost’s growth, supporting clients including Unilever, Google, and Fitness and Lifestyle Group (which expanded the agency’s remit late last year to include its entire portfolio, including Goodlife Health Clubs and Barry’s Bootcamp).

“Alex is one of the most talented, strategic thinkers I have ever worked with,” Bailey said.

“He has the support and respect of the strategic and planning community due to his dedication to the development and growth of our product, our clients and our people.”

Before joining the Omnicom Media Group agency six years ago, Pacey spent eight years at WPP’s Ikon, including as general manager.

“PHD is known for its strength in strategy and planning and I am extremely pleased to be positioned to help elevate this further and take this to new heights,” Pacey said of his promotion.

“We have a wealth of smart and creative talent at PHD, and I look forward to working closely with our product teams to continuously drive the good work forward.”

Earlier this month, the government’s Women in STEM Ambassador Program appointed PHD to its media account. And last month, PHD won Spotlight’s $39m account.
